Medium Partner Program: July Week 1 Earnings and Expectations
When I first started writing for the Medium Partner Program, I had no idea that some writers were making thousands of dollars a month off of their works. But when I discovered the likes of Jessica Wildfire and John Gorman, I really began to see why some of these people were earning so much.
I don’t think I had unrealistic expectations — I was just excited initially that I didn’t really care how much money my stories made me. But over the last two months, I’ve learned that the amount of time and effort you spend on this website really pays off.
In May, I wrote 42 stories and earned $141.27. I was so excited when I opened this email — I was at a concert at Red Rocks and I wasn’t sure how life could get any better in that moment.
In June, I wrote 24 stories and earned $120. I was very surprised by June, as I took the last two weeks off to focus on my job transition. But by that time, I had an audience already, and people kept clapping even while I was on hiatus.
