The passion in her voice burns through me,
glittering in my ears
with the naked roses of her soul.

I am aching with the
weight of my
own thorns, pushing up
underneath my skin
pricking the air with my
whispers of agony.

I do not live to
please, I say, whilst
I fawn like young doe
,
submissive to the pressure
of a knife in my
spine, dripping blood down
the backs of my thighs.

Where am I,
in the midst of the hurricane
that is other people?

Have I lost myself in the winds
and the lightning, blistering
upon me and flickering my own
fragile powerlines?
Where is my eye,
the center of my being,
the authentic molten hot pink core of me
where all is still and calm?
