From Amateur to Freelancer in 30 Days: Day 8

I did not sleep well. I have a lot of personal issues on my mind and it unfortunately distracted me a bit this morning. Instead, I ran a few errands. I was able to find my favorite vape juice at a local place, which made me smile.

Since I got home, I’ve spent most of my time perusing the job boards, trying to find something that might be both interesting and well-paying enough to justify applying.

I worked a bit on social media, building my LinkedIn profile back up and updating it with my current projects.

I connected with a few vape companies — I’m planning to offer them my services as a copywriter since most are based outside of the US and could use some improvement in that sector. Hopefully they’ll be willing to pay US wages. I guess we’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I’ve slowed on reading The Freelance Bible. There’s quite a bit of stuff in the book that doesn’t apply to a writer, but some of it has been useful so far. For instance, learning ways to grow your client base and business has been helpful. I’m still learning how to network and use my interpersonal skills to land jobs.

Today’s been a slow day. I don’t have any pressing assignments, though I will probably work on an essay for…
